Tottenham’s growing crisis has taken another twist after Richarlison appeared to take a swipe at manager Roberto De Zerbi on Instagram following criticism of the decision to exclude him from the first team.
The Brazilian striker has been left out of Spurs’ Premier League squad and has been restricted to playing for the club’s U21s this season. Despite his difficult situation, the 29-year-old recently impressed in an appearance against Cheltenham Town, scoring a goal and showing a positive attitude towards supporters.
🔴 DUNCAN FERGUSON SPEAKS OUT!
Everton legend Duncan Ferguson has criticised De Zerbi’s treatment of Richarlison, questioning why a player of his quality has been pushed aside.
Ferguson suggested that unless there had been a serious confrontation behind the scenes, Tottenham should be trying to bring the striker back into the first-team setup. He also praised Richarlison, revealing that he enjoyed working with him during his time at Everton.
👀 RICHARLISON’S RESPONSE SAYS IT ALL?
The Brazilian appeared to appreciate Ferguson’s support, responding to his comments on Instagram with a pointed message:
“Thanks @duncan9ferguson, you are right.”
His response has added fresh fuel to the controversy surrounding his relationship with De Zerbi.
⚠️ HOW DID THINGS GET THIS BAD?
Tensions reportedly emerged during Tottenham’s pre-season tour of Sydney, when De Zerbi admitted he was uncertain about Richarlison’s future because the striker had expressed mixed feelings about staying at the club.
Richarlison subsequently struggled to find a way out, with potential moves to Vasco da Gama and Trabzonspor reportedly collapsing for different reasons. Meanwhile, Tottenham strengthened their attacking options, making his return to the first team even more complicated.
With De Zerbi showing no public regret over his decision, Richarlison could remain on the sidelines until the January transfer window, when Tottenham may finally have an opportunity to resolve the situation.
😱 IS THIS THE BEGINNING OF THE END FOR RICHARLISON AT TOTTENHAM?
👇 What do you think — is De Zerbi right to freeze him out, or should Spurs bring him back into the first team?
