Arsenal could be preparing for a major change in attack after reports emerged that Viktor Gyökeres wants to leave the Emirates Stadium in January.
According to TEAMtalk, the Swedish striker is reportedly frustrated by his limited playing time, having featured for just 56 minutes in the Premier League this season. His role has reportedly diminished, with Mikel Arteta favouring Kai Havertz as his preferred centre-forward.
With the January transfer window approaching, Arsenal could explore several options if Gyökeres departs. Here are four strikers who could potentially replace him.
🔴 1. JULIÁN ÁLVAREZ
The Atlético Madrid forward is reportedly one of Arteta’s dream targets. Arsenal were previously linked with the Argentine, who could become a serious option if he decides to pursue a move away from Madrid. However, convincing Atlético to sell their prized attacker would be a major challenge.
🔴 2. ELI JUNIOR KROUPI
Bournemouth’s exciting young forward is another name linked with Arsenal. The Frenchman reportedly attracted interest after making an impressive impact in the Premier League. His pace, movement and finishing could make him an exciting addition to Arteta’s attack, although Bournemouth are believed to value him highly and may resist a January sale.
🔴 3. NICOLO TRESOLDI
The Club Brugge striker has reportedly attracted attention with his impressive goalscoring record since arriving from Hannover in 2025. His ability to link up with teammates and finish chances could make him a strong candidate for Arsenal, but competition from European giants could complicate any potential deal.
🔴 4. ERLING HAALAND
This would be Arsenal’s most ambitious option. The Manchester City superstar would represent a sensational signing, although a transfer appears highly unrealistic under normal circumstances. The report suggests a potential move could become a talking point if City were relegated following the outcome of their ongoing legal battle.
👀 Arsenal could face a crucial decision in January if Gyökeres really pushes for the exit door. But which of these four strikers would be the PERFECT replacement for the Swedish forward?
