Arsenal Face Real Madrid Battle for Arteta’s Dream Signing Kenan Yildiz
Arsenal are reportedly facing strong competition from Real Madrid in their pursuit of Juventus sensation Kenan Yildiz, who is believed to be one of Mikel Arteta’s top transfer targets.
Despite spending close to £200 million on five new signings during the summer, Arteta was unable to secure the elite attacking talent he wanted. The Gunners previously explored moves for stars including Vinicius Junior, Lautaro Martinez and Julian Alvarez, but failed to complete a deal.
Now, Arsenal are expected to revisit their search for a world-class winger in January, with Yildiz emerging as a potential target.
However, Juventus are reportedly demanding at least €100 million (£84.7 million) before considering a sale of the 21-year-old Turkish international.
Real Madrid have also been monitoring Yildiz for some time and could make another attempt to sign him next summer. Bayern Munich are reportedly interested as well, increasing the competition for his signature.
Yildiz has impressed with his dribbling, explosive pace and ability to create chances, recording 32 goal contributions in 99 Serie A appearances. He can operate on the left wing or as an attacking midfielder, making him an attractive option for Europe’s biggest clubs.
His progress has recently been interrupted by a metatarsal fracture suffered against Frosinone in August, which required surgery. He is expected to return to action next month.
Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti has been full of praise for the youngster, describing his unpredictable style of play as something special.
Spalletti said Yildiz “makes football shine” and compared his creativity and attacking unpredictability to Paris Saint-Germain star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
With Arsenal determined to strengthen their attack and Real Madrid also interested, the battle for Yildiz could become one of the major transfer stories to watch in the coming months.
