Liverpool Target £43m Midfield Star as Wijnaldum Successor
Liverpool are reportedly considering a move for Juventus midfielder Khephren Thuram as part of their midfield rebuild under new manager Andoni Iraola.
After a disappointing 2025/26 season, the Reds are expected to strengthen key areas, with midfield a top priority. Reports from Italy suggest Liverpool have begun talks for Thuram, valued at around £43m, who recently turned down interest from Saudi club Al Ahli.
The French international has long been on Liverpool’s radar since his days at OGC Nice and is known for his energy, strength, technical quality, and ball progression—traits that have drawn comparisons to Georginio Wijnaldum.
With inconsistency in midfield last season, Thuram is viewed as a player who could add balance, intensity, and control to Iraola’s system.
At £43m, he is seen as a strong value option as Liverpool aim to rebuild and compete for top honours again.
