Liverpool Could Reunite Antoine Semenyo With Iraola After Fresh Manchester City Development
Liverpool are reportedly monitoring Manchester City forwards Jeremy Doku and Antoine Semenyo, with the Reds potentially ready to make a move if City are forced to sell players.
According to reports, Liverpool could consider signing either attacker depending on the outcome of Manchester City’s ongoing Premier League case involving the club’s alleged 114 financial charges.
Could Liverpool Target Doku or Semenyo?
Both players would add quality to Liverpool’s attack, although Doku may not be the club’s priority due to the number of options already available on the left wing.
Liverpool currently have several players who can operate in that position, including Bradley Barcola, Cody Gakpo, Rio Ngumoha and Victor Munoz.
While Doku is capable of playing on the right, the Belgian international remains most comfortable on the left.
That could make Semenyo the more attractive option for Liverpool. The Ghanaian forward was previously linked with the Reds before eventually making the move from Bournemouth to Manchester City.
Liverpool were believed to have shown interest in Semenyo during Andoni Iraola’s spell at Bournemouth, but the club ultimately failed to secure his signature.
Could Iraola Help Liverpool Land Semenyo?
Semenyo already has a strong connection with Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola, having worked with the Spaniard during their time together at Bournemouth.
If the 26-year-old becomes available, that previous relationship could potentially give Liverpool an advantage and make a move to Anfield more appealing.
However, much depends on the outcome of Manchester City’s ongoing case. The Premier League has yet to announce a final verdict, and City would also have the option to appeal any potential punishment.
For now, Liverpool’s chances of signing either Semenyo or Doku remain speculative. Several factors would need to align before Manchester City are forced to consider selling either player.
