Bernardo Silva Gives Four-Word Reply After Heated Clash With Martin Odegaard
Bernardo Silva has responded after being questioned about his heated confrontation with Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard during Portugal’s 2-1 victory over Norway.
Portugal secured the win in Oslo with goals from Joao Felix and Goncalo Ramos, while Erling Haaland pulled one back for Norway.
Silva came on in the 87th minute and was involved in a controversial incident shortly after entering the pitch. The Manchester City star caught Odegaard on the back of the legs after the Arsenal midfielder had already released the ball, resulting in a yellow card.
Odegaard appeared furious with the challenge and confronted Silva moments later. The Arsenal captain was also seen walking gingerly after the match, raising concerns over a possible injury.
When Silva was later asked what Odegaard had said to him following the tackle, the Portuguese midfielder gave a brief four-word response:
“It’s football, my friend.”
The two players are expected to meet again when Portugal face Norway for the second time on October 4.
Odegaard’s availability for Norway’s upcoming match against Wales remains uncertain, with Arsenal also hoping their captain will be fully fit for their Premier League return against Leeds United.
