GRAEME SOUNESS SLAMS BUKAYO SAKA WITH ‘CHEAT’ ACCUSATION AS PIERS MORGAN FIERCELY DISAGREES

Former Liverpool captain Graeme Souness has sparked a heated debate after accusing Arsenal superstar Bukayo Saka of diving during a live discussion with outspoken Gunners supporter Piers Morgan.

The controversy erupted following Arsenal’s narrow 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest, with Noni Madueke scoring the decisive goal to secure all three points for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Souness Accuses Saka of Diving

Speaking on Piers Morgan’s Football Uncensored show, Souness launched a strong criticism of Saka, claiming the England international regularly exaggerates contact and goes to ground too easily when challenged by opponents.

The former Scotland international argued that Saka sometimes looks for free-kicks instead of attempting to stay on his feet. He also criticised Arsenal players for surrounding referees and putting pressure on them to make decisions in their favour.

Souness insisted that deliberately simulating a foul amounts to cheating, although he acknowledged that the problem is widespread in modern football.

Piers Morgan Pushes Back

Morgan, a passionate Arsenal supporter, was clearly unhappy with Souness’ comments and repeatedly challenged him over whether he was directly labelling Saka a cheat.

However, Souness stood by his position, arguing that simulation has become one of the biggest problems affecting the modern game, alongside the ongoing controversy surrounding VAR.

The exchange quickly became a talking point among football fans, with opinions likely to remain divided over whether Saka goes down too easily or is simply targeted by opposition defenders.

Arsenal Still Need More Goals

Despite their defensive strength, Arsenal have continued to face questions about their attacking output.

The Gunners have established themselves as one of the Premier League’s most difficult teams to break down, but their ability to score consistently could prove crucial in the battle against Manchester City.

Viktor Gyökeres, who arrived with high expectations, has struggled to secure regular playing time, while Kai Havertz has yet to make a major impact in his role up front.

Saka remains an important figure in Arsenal’s attack, having scored four goals in 10 appearances across all competitions at the time of the report. However, the team may need greater contributions from its other forwards to reach its full potential.

With Manchester City maintaining a strong start to the campaign, Arsenal will need to improve their attacking efficiency if they hope to stay in the title race.

What do you think? Is Graeme Souness right about Bukayo Saka, or is the Arsenal star being unfairly criticised? 👀⚽
