Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Mexican teenage sensation Gilberto Mora, with claims suggesting the Club Tijuana midfielder has a £21 million release clause.
The 18-year-old attacking midfielder is attracting attention from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Real Madrid, Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool. Arsenal are also said to have contacted Tijuana about a possible January transfer, setting up a potential battle for his signature.
Liverpool’s reported interest comes as the club continues to invest in promising young players. Anfield could offer Mora the perfect environment to develop his abilities and establish himself at the highest level of European football.
Interestingly, Mora has already drawn comparisons with former Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho. The Brazilian became a fan favourite at Anfield because of his outstanding creativity, technical quality and ability to produce spectacular moments.
Although Mora still has a long way to go before matching Coutinho’s achievements, his potential has reportedly caught the attention of several top clubs.
With Julian Ward involved in Liverpool’s transfer planning, the Mexican youngster could be viewed as a valuable long-term investment, particularly if the reported £21 million release clause is accurate.
However, Liverpool face strong competition, and there is currently no confirmed agreement. The Reds may need to act quickly if they want to secure one of Mexico’s most exciting young prospects.
Should Liverpool pay £21 million for Gilberto Mora and develop him into their next Philippe Coutinho? 👀🔥
