Liverpool star’s agent breaks silence after Man City transfer reports
The agent of Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister has moved to shut down speculation linking the Argentine with a surprise transfer to Manchester City.
Reports had suggested City had internally discussed Mac Allister as a potential replacement for Rodri, who is reportedly expected to leave for Barcelona. However, no official contact or negotiations had taken place between the two clubs.
Mac Allister has now returned to Liverpool training following his post-World Cup break, with new manager Andoni Iraola expected to rely heavily on the 27-year-old this season.
His father and agent, Carlos Mac Allister, has made Liverpool fans breathe a sigh of relief, insisting there is no plan for the midfielder to leave Anfield this summer.
“Alexis will stay at Liverpool, and we have not discussed any possibility of him leaving the club this summer,” he said.
Meanwhile, another Liverpool midfielder, Curtis Jones, could reportedly be heading for the exit door, with Inter Milan said to have agreed personal terms with the 25-year-old. The Serie A champions still need to negotiate a transfer fee with Liverpool.
