Liverpool Forward Reconsiders Exit After Iraola Takes Charge
A Liverpool attacker has reportedly made a sudden U-turn on his plans to leave Anfield following the appointment of Andoni Iraola as the club’s new head coach.
After replacing Arne Slot, Iraola’s arrival has sparked fresh optimism at Liverpool, with major changes expected during the summer transfer window. While several high-profile departures are already underway, one player who had been considering an exit is now believed to be open to staying.
According to reports, Federico Chiesa has decided he wants to fight for his place in the squad and prove his value under the new manager. The Italian winger is said to be eager to impress during pre-season, although he understands that his future will ultimately depend on the club’s plans.
Chiesa contributed three goals and three assists in 36 appearances last season, largely featuring from the bench. Despite remaining a fringe player, he is reportedly prepared to compete for a bigger role rather than seek an immediate transfer.
Liverpool are still expected to strengthen their attack this summer, with several forwards linked to the club, meaning Chiesa faces a tough challenge to secure regular minutes. Iraola is expected to assess the 28-year-old during pre-season before making a final decision on his future.
