Arsenal Receive ‘Package Deal’ Offer for Two Stars as Transfer Domino Effect Looms
Arsenal have reportedly received a combined offer from Galatasaray for two of their players, Ethan Nwaneri and Gabriel Martinelli, potentially setting off a chain reaction in the final weeks of the transfer window.
The Gunners have already spent more than £125 million this summer, including £75 million on Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes. Arsenal have recovered close to £40 million through the departures of Leandro Trossard, Jakub Kiwior and Christian Norgaard.
The club are also searching for another attacking option after Vinicius Junior committed his future to Real Madrid by signing a new six-year contract.
Reports suggest Arsenal have identified Julian Alvarez, Iliman Ndiaye and Bradley Barcola as possible alternatives.
However, any decision to sell Martinelli could force Mikel Arteta’s side to accelerate their search for a new left-sided attacker.
According to Turkish reports, Galatasaray have made approaches for both Nwaneri and Martinelli. Nwaneri, 19, spent the second half of last season on loan at Marseille and has impressed during Arsenal’s pre-season campaign, scoring against Borussia Dortmund in the Emirates Cup.
Martinelli, 25, has also been linked with a departure this summer. Roma are reportedly interested in the Brazilian and could be prepared to pay between £34 million and £38 million.
Arsenal are understood to be reluctant to sanction Martinelli’s departure unless they can first bring in a replacement. With the Premier League transfer deadline approaching on September 1, the potential double deal could have a major impact on the club’s remaining transfer plans.
