Tottenham Star Agrees to Summer Exit as Premier League Transfer Chain Nears

Tottenham Defender Agrees Summer Exit as Inter Milan Move Nears

Tottenham captain Cristian Romero has reportedly given the green light to leave the club this summer, with Inter Milan pushing to complete a deal. However, the transfer is still facing a major obstacle before it can be finalized.

Spurs have enjoyed a busy transfer window under Roberto De Zerbi, strengthening the squad with high-profile arrivals including Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Andy Robertson, and Marcos Senesi. The club is also targeting further attacking reinforcements, with names such as Omar Marmoush, Savinho, Andreas Schjelderup, and Cody Gakpo linked with moves to north London.

While Tottenham continue to focus on new signings, departures are also expected. According to reports from Italy, Inter Milan have reached an agreement on a package worth around €40 million for Romero, with the Argentine defender reportedly willing to make the switch.

The deal, though, hinges on Inter offloading players first. French defender Benjamin Pavard is believed to be the main candidate to leave, but the former Bayern Munich star is keen to remain at the San Siro, creating a significant hurdle for the Italian club.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has also indicated that there is growing interest in Romero from several clubs and expects the centre-back to leave Tottenham before the transfer window closes.

Pavard, who joined Inter in 2023 after winning multiple trophies with Bayern Munich, has been linked with a summer exit as the Serie A giants look to make room for Romero. However, no swap deal between the two defenders has been proposed at this stage.
