Liverpool are reportedly considering making Ronald Araujo’s loan move permanent in 2027, with a former Manchester United chief scout suggesting that a long-term deal could be on the cards.
The Barcelona defender has made an impressive start to life at Anfield, quickly earning the admiration of Liverpool supporters through his strong defensive displays and commitment on the pitch.
Araujo was particularly impressive during Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over Brighton, producing a determined performance that helped the Reds keep a clean sheet.
🔥 LIVERPOOL ALREADY PLANNING TO KEEP ARAUJO?
Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown believes Liverpool could already be preparing the groundwork for a permanent transfer.
Speaking to Football Insider, Brown explained that when a loan signing settles in quickly and delivers strong performances, it is natural for the club to explore the possibility of keeping him beyond the initial agreement.
Araujo’s rapid adaptation has reportedly made a positive impression on Liverpool’s coaching staff, with his display against Brighton further strengthening his case.
Although Liverpool are expected to continue assessing his performances throughout the season, Brown believes the club could begin making arrangements early rather than waiting until the summer.
If the Uruguayan international maintains his current form, his chances of remaining at Anfield permanently could increase significantly.
💰 £47M TRANSFER COULD KEEP HIM AT ANFIELD!
Liverpool may have a realistic opportunity to secure Araujo’s services, with reports suggesting the club has an option to sign him permanently for around £47 million.
Journalist David Lynch has also reportedly viewed a permanent deal as a sensible move for Liverpool, given the defender’s performances so far.
Interestingly, Araujo initially arrived to provide additional cover at centre-back, but he has also impressed when deployed at right-back. His versatility could prove valuable as Liverpool look to strengthen their defensive options.
The 27-year-old has earned praise for his physical presence, defensive determination and consistency since joining the Reds.
Spanish newspaper Marca has also reported that Liverpool could consider making the move permanent if he continues performing at his current level.
Nothing has been finalised yet, and Liverpool still have time to evaluate the situation. However, Araujo’s early performances have given supporters plenty of reasons to believe he could have a long-term future at Anfield.
