Spurs Eye Bayern Munich Defender Kim Min-jae as Transfer Interest Grows
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly expressed interest in Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae as they continue to monitor options for their defence.
The 29-year-old South Korea international has emerged as a potential target for Spurs, with German journalist Christian Falk reporting that Tottenham, Aston Villa and AC Milan have all shown interest in the centre-back.
According to Falk, the three clubs made contact regarding Kim during the summer transfer window, although none submitted a formal offer at the time.
Kim’s situation at Bayern could become clearer during contract discussions later this year. Bayern are expected to decide whether they want to extend his stay or consider offers for the experienced defender.
Despite the transfer speculation, there is currently nothing concrete to suggest that Kim will leave Bayern in January. Falk has indicated that the player’s future will depend largely on what Bayern decide during their upcoming talks with him.
For Tottenham, however, the continued interest puts Kim firmly on the club’s transfer radar as they assess possible defensive reinforcements.
The big question now is whether Spurs will turn their interest into a formal bid if Bayern make the defender available.
