Rio Ngumoha could be forced to part ways with his agent as Liverpool make a clear stance on his transfer future.

 

 

Rio Ngumoha may be at risk of being misadvised by his representatives, as speculation continues over a possible departure from Liverpool.

Bayern Munich were strongly linked with a move for the 17-year-old ahead of the upcoming transfer window, and their interest has reportedly been confirmed. However, Liverpool have maintained a firm stance, making it clear they have no intention of negotiating a sale of the England youth international.

Reports suggest Ngumoha’s brother was involved in discussions with Bayern regarding a potential transfer, raising concerns that the youngster may need to reconsider his representation to ensure his career is properly guided. Many believe Anfield remains the ideal environment for his development, especially after his breakout 2025–26 season in which he made 29 appearances across all competitions under Arne Slot.

With Andoni Iraola now in charge at Liverpool, the club also has a manager known for developing young talent during his time at Bournemouth, which could further strengthen Ngumoha’s future at the club.

Bayern were seriously exploring a summer move, with indications that the player’s camp showed openness to a switch to the Bundesliga. According to CF Bayern Insider (12 June), his representatives even suggested that agreeing personal terms and salary would not be an issue.

When Bayern approached Liverpool directly, they were firmly turned away, with Anfield clearly stating that the youngster was not for sale. Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown also claimed Liverpool were angered by how Bayern handled their approach.

Now aware of the growing external interest, Liverpool are expected to push for a new contract to secure his long-term future. Ngumoha, who recently made his England debut in a pre-World Cup friendly, is widely tipped for a sharp rise in value if he continues his development on Merseyside.
