🚨 Fabrizio Romano provides fresh update on Bradley Barcola talks this Friday afternoon

Liverpool have yet to complete a deal for Bradley Barcola this summer, despite earlier reports suggesting that an agreement with PSG had already been reached.

Fabrizio Romano has backed Sacha Tavolieri’s update on X, confirming that the Reds are still some way from reaching an agreement with the French champions.

The latest clarification comes after reports claimed Liverpool had agreed a €128m (£109.7m) transfer fee for the France international.

Liverpool and PSG still have work to do on Barcola

Liverpool’s admiration for the 23-year-old winger remains unchanged, but there is currently no indication that negotiations have reached a decisive breakthrough.

The biggest obstacle appears to be the valuation of the player. PSG are reportedly demanding a fee that could reach around £145m, while Liverpool’s valuation is believed to be closer to £100m.

With such a significant gap between the two clubs, further negotiations will be required before a deal can be completed.

Liverpool may need to find a compromise

At this stage, it would be difficult for Liverpool to simply abandon their pursuit of Barcola after making him such a major priority.

However, time is becoming an increasingly important factor. The Reds have already focused heavily on this deal, while several other areas of the squad still require attention.

Liverpool are not expected to simply pay whatever PSG demand, particularly if the asking price exceeds £140m. But a compromise could potentially be reached if the Reds are willing to stretch their budget by another £10m–£20m.

With the transfer window closing in just 25 days, Liverpool still have several positions to address, including striker, centre-back, right-back and potentially defensive midfield.

The clock is ticking, and the Reds will need to move quickly if they want to get all of their summer business completed.
