Richarlison Breaks Silence on Everton Return Amid Spurs Transfer Drama
Tottenham forward Richarlison has publicly addressed the growing speculation surrounding a possible deadline-day return to Everton.
Reports initially claimed that Spurs and Everton had reached an agreement in principle for the Brazilian striker to return to Goodison Park, four years after leaving Everton for Tottenham.
A £35 million package was reportedly discussed, with Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye potentially moving in the opposite direction for around £60 million.
However, Richarlison appeared to cast doubt on the situation with a cryptic social media post, before later issuing a lengthy statement about his future.
The 28-year-old made it clear that he does not want other people deciding his career for him.
«“I’ve always made it clear, at every opportunity, that any move of mine to another place would also have to be good for the club.”»
Richarlison also insisted that he has always put Tottenham’s interests into consideration and expects the club to show him the same respect.
He added that if Spurs and Everton can reach an agreement, he would be willing to return to the club he still holds close to his heart.
“My intention was to go back to the place where I was so happy,” Richarlison explained, while stressing that he remains under contract with Tottenham and will continue to make himself available to the club.
The latest comments have added another twist to a dramatic deadline-day transfer saga involving Spurs, Everton and Ndiaye.
