Liverpool Could Build Incredible New XI If Jeff Bezos Investment Goes Through β€” Six Major Signings Identified

Liverpool could be in for a dramatic transformation if Jeff Bezos and his wealthy investment group complete their reported takeover of a significant stake in the club.

A consortium involving Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin and businessman Amit Bhatia is reportedly close to purchasing around one-third of Liverpool.

Fenway Sports Group (FSG) currently controls the club, but an announcement regarding the proposed investment could reportedly arrive soon. The deal is expected to value Liverpool at around $6 billion β€” a huge increase from the $300 million FSG paid for the club in 2010.

If the investment goes through, Liverpool could suddenly have even greater financial power in the transfer market.

What Could Bezos’ Investment Mean for Liverpool?

The Reds have already spent heavily in recent transfer windows, but further investment could allow the club to target some of the biggest names in world football.

New manager Andoni Iraola has inherited a squad that still needs significant rebuilding, particularly following the departure of Mohamed Salah.

Salah left Liverpool as a free agent this summer after an extraordinary spell at Anfield. His contribution to Liverpool’s 2024/25 Premier League title triumph was particularly remarkable, with the Egyptian registering 47 goal contributions in 38 league appearances.

Replacing that level of production will be extremely difficult.

Liverpool have already brought in players such as Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike in a huge spending spree, but the Reds could still need another attacking superstar.

Bradley Barcola Could Become a Major Target

One of the biggest areas Liverpool could look to strengthen is on the wing.

Rio Ngumoha is still developing, while Victor Munoz and Cody Gakpo may not be able to consistently replace Salah’s enormous attacking output.

That has left Liverpool looking towards another elite winger, with Bradley Barcola continuing to attract interest.

PSG’s asking price has reportedly made the deal extremely difficult, but a major financial injection from Bezos and his fellow investors could potentially make such a transfer much easier to pursue.

More Changes Could Be Coming

Liverpool’s midfield and defence could also undergo major changes over the next few seasons.

Wataru Endo could be moved on if he remains outside Iraola’s plans, while Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones could also face uncertain futures if they fail to establish themselves.

Jeremie Frimpong’s adaptation at right-back could also determine whether Liverpool decide to make another move for the position.

Meanwhile, Alisson Becker is approaching the later stages of his Liverpool career, meaning the club will eventually need to identify his long-term replacement.

The same applies to Virgil van Dijk, with Liverpool expected to gradually prepare for life without their legendary captain.

Six New Signings Could Complete the Rebuild

If Bezos’ investment materialises and Liverpool continue spending aggressively, the club could potentially target major additions across several positions.

Alessandro Bastoni has been suggested as a possible long-term successor to Van Dijk, with the Inter Milan defender continuing to attract interest from Europe’s biggest clubs.

Liverpool could also look towards proven Premier League talent for several other positions, particularly if their increased financial strength allows them to compete for expensive targets.

If the reported investment happens, Liverpool could have the financial muscle to assemble an incredibly strong squad over the next few transfer windows.

With Iraola at the helm and potential additions such as Barcola, Bastoni, Livramento, Konsa, Kerkez and Wharton, the Reds could look completely different by 2028/29.

For Liverpool supporters, the biggest question is whether the reported Bezos-led investment actually happens β€” because if it does, the club’s transfer ambitions could reach another level entirely.
