Ferran Torres makes final decision as Arsenal and Tottenham battle for Barcelona star
Ferran Torres has reportedly decided on his next move, dealing a major blow to Arsenal and Tottenham, who had both been interested in signing the Barcelona forward.
The 26-year-old Spain international has been linked with a departure from Camp Nou throughout the summer after enjoying a successful spell with Barcelona since joining from Manchester City in 2022. During his time at the club, Torres has won three La Liga titles and a Copa del Rey.
His impressive performances at the 2026 World Cup, including scoring Spain’s winning goal against Argentina in the final, have further increased interest in his services.
Arsenal and Tottenham were both reportedly monitoring Torres as they looked to strengthen their attacking options before the transfer deadline. The Spaniard had also been open to the possibility of returning to England.
However, that option now appears to have been ruled out.
According to TEAMtalk, Torres has agreed personal terms with European champions Paris Saint-Germain, with Barcelona reportedly accepting a fee of around £43 million for the forward.
The report claims a conversation with PSG head coach Luis Enrique proved decisive in Torres’ decision. The opportunity to work with Enrique and compete for major honours in France is said to have convinced him to choose PSG over a Premier League return.
Torres had previously remained coy about his Barcelona future, admitting that despite having a contract, his situation could still change before the new season.
He also appeared to challenge Barcelona to show how much they wanted to keep him, saying the club should make an effort to negotiate with him.
Torres has scored 65 goals and provided 23 assists in 207 appearances for Barcelona. If the move goes through, he would join an already formidable PSG attack featuring Ousmane Dembélé, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Désiré Doué and Maghnes Akliouche.
