Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly reshaped their summer transfer strategy, joining Liverpool and Manchester United in the race for a major midfield target.
According to TEAMtalk, Spurs had initially considered a move for Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali, but that deal now appears unlikely. As a result, attention has shifted toward Crystal Palace’s highly rated youngster Adam Wharton.
The 21-year-old is regarded as one of the Premier League’s brightest emerging midfield talents, attracting strong interest from top clubs across England. Liverpool have already held discussions with his representatives, while Manchester United have been long-term admirers as they continue their midfield rebuild.
Wharton’s composure, technical quality, and ability to control the tempo have earned widespread praise, with some describing him as “incredible” for his maturity and game management despite his age.
However, Crystal Palace are expected to demand a significant fee for one of their most valuable assets, and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham are willing to meet that valuation amid stiff competition.
Liverpool’s Champions League ambitions and Manchester United’s rebuilding project could also complicate Spurs’ pursuit, making this one of the summer’s most competitive transfer battles.
