Tottenham Favoured Over Arsenal in Race for Marcus Rashford as Transfer Links Intensify
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly emerging as stronger contenders than Arsenal to sign Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford this summer.
Spurs continue to work on a deal for Manchester City winger Savinho, but reports suggest Roberto De Zerbi is eager to strengthen his attacking options further by bringing in more than one wide player.
Rashford has been linked with a move to North London throughout the transfer window, although completing a deal is expected to be challenging. While Arsenal have recently been mentioned as potential suitors, journalist Alex Crook believes Tottenham are the more realistic destination.
Crook suggested that Rashford may not fit Mikel Arteta’s preferred profile, pointing to Arsenal’s focus on maintaining a disciplined dressing room. Instead, he believes De Zerbi could see an opportunity to revive the England international’s career at Spurs.
Although Manchester United are reportedly prepared to sell Rashford for around £30 million, his £325,000-per-week wages remain a major obstacle. Reports indicate the forward is reluctant to accept a pay cut, meaning any interested club would need to match or come close to his current salary.
If Tottenham were to meet those wage demands, Rashford would become the club’s highest-paid player, surpassing recent signing Sandro Tonali.
