Arsenal should be enjoying one of the happiest periods in their history after winning the Premier League title last season for the first time since 2004. However, a new report suggests that things behind the scenes at the Emirates are not as positive as they appear.
According to The Telegraph’s Sam Dean, morale at the club has reportedly “plummeted” amid plans to restructure operations and cut costs, with around 60 staff members facing the risk of redundancy.
The situation has raised eyebrows, particularly because Arsenal enjoyed record revenues following their success on the pitch. Despite their achievements, the club has reportedly experienced seven consecutive years of financial losses.
The report also claims that several experienced and influential employees have already left, while others are expected to depart in the coming months.
The changes are linked to a wider review of the club’s operations that began after Richard Garlick became chief executive in September 2025. Management consultants Boston Consulting Group have also reportedly been involved in the process.
Interestingly, Mikel Arteta was recently asked about the potential job cuts but distanced himself from the issue, saying it was not a question he was the right person to answer.
With Arsenal looking strong on the pitch, the reported unrest behind the scenes has created an uncomfortable contrast.
Will Arsenal’s hierarchy address these growing concerns, or could the situation become a bigger problem for the club? 👀
