Tottenham Ready to Challenge Man City for Pedro Neto if Savinho Deal Falls Apart
Tottenham could make a surprise move to sign Chelsea winger Pedro Neto, but only if their pursuit of Manchester City forward Savinho fails.
Manchester City have reportedly opened talks with Neto’s representatives as they explore options to strengthen their wide attacking positions. However, the move depends largely on Savinho’s future, with the Brazilian strongly linked to Tottenham.
According to reports, Spurs are prepared to enter the race for Neto should they miss out on Savinho, although the City winger is still considered likely to complete a move to north London.
Manchester City boss Enzo Maresca is believed to be a major admirer of Neto after working with him previously, making the Portuguese international one of City’s preferred targets.
Chelsea are not actively looking to sell the 26-year-old, but a significant offer—reported to be around £70 million—could force the club to consider negotiations. Neto is also said to be open to discussing a switch if the financial terms are right.
Both Neto and Savinho remain tied to their respective clubs until 2031, leaving any potential transfers dependent on negotiations between the clubs.
Meanwhile, Tottenham continue to assess several attacking options, including Cody Gakpo, Andreas Schjelderup and Folarin Balogun, as Roberto De Zerbi looks to strengthen his squad after already bringing in Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Jan Paul van Hecke, Marcos Senesi, Andrew Robertson and Martin Dúbravka this summer.
Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca has also admitted the club still has work to do in the transfer market following the departures of several experienced players, insisting that more business could be completed before the window closes.
