Liverpool and Manchester United have reportedly been put on alert after Newcastle United indicated that Nick Woltemade could be available for a loan move this summer.
The Germany international has attracted interest from several clubs, including Aston Villa, Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund. However, sources close to the agents’ market claim that Liverpool and Manchester United are also keeping tabs on the 24-year-old.
Woltemade has yet to make the expected impact at Newcastle, but his reputation remains intact. His versatility to play both as a No. 9 and No. 10 could make him an appealing option for clubs seeking greater attacking depth.
Newcastle are understood to favour a permanent sale worth around €65 million, although a loan deal featuring an option to buy could be the more realistic outcome.
Neither Liverpool nor Manchester United have started negotiations, and Woltemade is not currently viewed as a top priority for either club. Nevertheless, both are expected to monitor the situation closely.
For Newcastle, Woltemade’s potential exit would add to an already eventful summer, with Sandro Tonali and Anthony Gordon having departed, while Bruno Guimaraes is also reportedly expected to leave.
