Pedro Porro is reportedly becoming increasingly uncertain about Tottenham Hotspur’s long-term plans under Roberto De Zerbi, with Real Madrid and Barcelona said to be monitoring his situation.
The Spanish right-back has become a key player for Spurs, impressing with his defensive work, creativity and attacking contributions. His performances for Spain have also strengthened his reputation as one of the top players in his position.
However, despite signing an improved contract in June, reports suggest that Porro is beginning to question whether Tottenham can offer him the opportunity to compete consistently for major trophies.
According to Football Insider, the 27-year-old wants to play at the highest level and is concerned about the club’s ability to meet his ambitions. This could create a difficult situation for De Zerbi as he attempts to build a competitive team and convince his key players to stay.
👀 REAL MADRID AND BARCELONA KEEP WATCHING
Despite the growing speculation, Tottenham are reportedly relaxed about the interest from Spain’s biggest clubs and have no plans to sell Porro during the January transfer window.
According to Football Insider reporter Pete O’Rourke, Spurs believe improved results and stronger performances could convince the defender to remain in north London.
However, the club could face a serious challenge if Porro decides he wants to leave.
💰 TOTTENHAM SET A HUGE PRICE TAG
TEAMtalk previously reported that Tottenham value Porro at around £75 million.
If a transfer were completed for that amount, it would surpass the reported £57 million fee Paris Saint-Germain paid for Achraf Hakimi in 2021, setting a potential world record for a right-back.
For now, Tottenham appear determined to keep the Spanish international. However, with Real Madrid and Barcelona reportedly interested, Porro’s future could become a major talking point in the months ahead.
Will Pedro Porro stay at Tottenham under De Zerbi, or could a move to Spain be on the cards? 👀
