CARRAGHER DEMANDS WIRTZ BE DROPPED AFTER LIVERPOOL’S HUMILIATING MAN CITY DEFEAT! 😡
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has questioned Florian Wirtz’s place in the starting XI following the Reds’ disappointing 3-0 defeat to Manchester City in the Premier League.
The former defender was left frustrated by the German midfielder’s performance, insisting that Liverpool are not getting enough value from their expensive signing.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Carragher said Liverpool had spent heavily but were receiving nowhere near the level of performance expected. He even pointed out that Koumas and Munoz had performed better than players who cost around £100 million.
Carragher also suggested that Wirtz should not be starting ahead of Ryan Gravenberch, arguing that the German is currently offering too little to justify his place in the team.
Wirtz has struggled to make a significant impact in the Premier League this season, failing to score in his first six appearances while registering just one assist.
His difficult start has now raised fresh questions about whether Liverpool manager Arne Slot should leave him out of the starting lineup.
