Tottenham are reportedly preparing a significant offer for Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo, according to sources cited by CaughtOffside.
Well-placed figures in the football industry have backed the reports, speaking anonymously to protect their connections. Gakpo’s future at Liverpool is said to be uncertain this summer following a dip in form, though he continues to attract interest from clubs across Europe and the Premier League.
Current indications suggest Spurs are leading the chase for the Dutch international and have already outlined plans for a package worth around €70m for the 27-year-old. While no official bid has been submitted yet, one insider claims a proposal is actively being developed. Newcastle United and Bayern Munich are also believed to be keeping a close eye on developments.
Bayern had previously considered Gakpo last summer before turning their attention to his former teammate Luis Díaz, but they remain interested in strengthening their attacking options. Vincent Kompany’s side have also been linked with players such as Marcus Rashford and Gabriel Martinelli, and notably missed out on Anthony Gordon, who moved to Barcelona.
Gakpo has not made any decision regarding his future and is not thought to be actively pushing for an exit, despite speculation suggesting he may be unsettled following Arne Slot’s departure from Liverpool.
Talks are expected later in the summer after the 2026 World Cup with the Netherlands, although Tottenham are anticipated to make an approach sooner. While Gakpo has been a useful squad option at Liverpool, some believe the club could consider cashing in if a strong offer arrives.
