Liverpool Could Reunite Antoine Semenyo With Iraola After Fresh Manchester City Development

Liverpool are reportedly keeping tabs on Manchester City attackers Jeremy Doku and Antoine Semenyo, with the Reds potentially considering a move if City are required to sell players.

A reliable source on X claims Liverpool could explore deals for either attacker depending on the outcome of Manchester City’s ongoing Premier League case involving the club’s alleged 114 charges.

Would Liverpool Need Doku or Semenyo?
Both players are undoubtedly talented, but Doku may not be the most obvious option for Liverpool given the number of left-wingers already at the club.

The Reds currently have several players capable of operating naturally on the left, including Bradley Barcola, Cody Gakpo, Rio Ngumoha and Victor Munoz.

Although Doku has also featured on the right, the Belgian’s preferred position is still the left wing.
Semenyo could therefore represent a more appealing option for Liverpool. The Ghana international was previously linked with the Reds before eventually leaving Bournemouth for Manchester City.

Liverpool were reportedly interested in Semenyo during Andoni Iraola’s time in charge, but they ultimately missed out on signing the forward.
Could Iraola Reunion Help Liverpool?
Semenyo already knows Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola well from their time together at Bournemouth.

If the 26-year-old were to become available, that previous relationship could potentially work in Liverpool’s favour and make a move to Anfield more attractive.

However, there remains considerable uncertainty surrounding Manchester City’s situation. The Premier League has not yet officially announced a verdict on the alleged charges, while City would also have the right to appeal any punishment.

As a result, the timing and potential consequences remain unclear.
For now, suggestions that Liverpool could benefit from a potential Manchester City player sale remain speculative. A number of factors would need to fall into place before either Semenyo or Doku could realistically become available.
