Arsenal Star Blasted for ‘Disgraceful’ Display Against Leeds United Despite 2-1 Win

Arsenal Star Slammed for ‘Disgraceful’ Display Against Leeds United

Arsenal secured a crucial 2-1 comeback victory over Leeds United, but Bukayo Saka has come under fire from supporters following a disappointing performance in the Premier League clash.

After suffering their first league defeat since April against Brighton, Mikel Arteta’s side were determined to respond. However, Leeds made life difficult for the reigning champions, with David Raya producing several important saves before half-time.

James Justin gave Leeds the lead in the 55th minute, but Riccardo Calafiori equalised shortly afterwards. Bruno Guimarães then came off the bench to score the decisive goal, helping Arsenal claim all three points and remain joint-top of the table.

Despite the victory, Saka’s performance attracted considerable criticism.

The England international struggled to influence proceedings, with some supporters believing his replacement, Noni Madueke, offered more during the game. The Arsenal winger was criticised for his lack of creativity, pace and attacking threat.

According to SofaScore, Saka managed just one shot in his first 66 minutes, failed to complete a dribble, lost possession 12 times and recorded only one key pass. He received a rating of 6.6, significantly below his season average of 7.56.

Questions have also emerged about his form since undergoing hamstring surgery in December 2024. After recording 50 goal contributions across the 2022/23 and 2023/24 campaigns, his attacking numbers have reportedly declined over the following two seasons.

Arsenal fans were quick to voice their frustration on social media, with some questioning whether the club’s highest-paid players were doing enough to justify their salaries.

One supporter described Saka’s performance as disgraceful, while another claimed his struggles had continued since signing a new contract. Others expressed concern about his long-term form.

However, Saka will have an opportunity to silence his critics when Arsenal return to Champions League action, a competition in which he has previously delivered impressive performances.

Despite Arsenal’s comeback win, the spotlight remains firmly on the winger, with supporters hoping he can rediscover the explosive form that made him one of the club’s most important attacking players.
