Tottenham have been encouraged to make a move for Al Ahli striker Ivan Toney as they continue their summer rebuild under Roberto De Zerbi.
Former Chelsea and England forward Carlton Cole believes Spurs are still missing a clinical striker capable of scoring 20 or more goals each season. Speaking on talkSPORT, Cole suggested Toney would be an ideal addition, arguing that Tottenham’s current attacking options have not been consistent enough in front of goal.
Toney has enjoyed an outstanding spell in Saudi Arabia since joining Al Ahli from Brentford in 2024. The England international has scored 72 goals in 93 appearances, including 32 league goals last season, cementing his reputation as one of the league’s most prolific forwards.
Tottenham have already spent more than £200 million during the current transfer window, but Cole believes signing a proven goalscorer like Toney could give the North London club the firepower needed to challenge for major honours this season.
