Tottenham Expert Saddened by One Thing at Harry Kane’s Ballon d’Or Celebration

Harry Kane made history this week after winning the 2026 Ballon d’Or, bringing huge pride to Tottenham supporters as the former Spurs captain claimed football’s most prestigious individual award.

The England international became the first English player since Michael Owen in 2001 to win the honour, joining an exclusive group of just five Englishmen to have achieved the feat.

Kane enjoyed an incredible campaign with Bayern Munich, scoring 61 goals in 51 appearances for the German giants. His overall tally increased to 73 goals in 65 matches when his performances for England were included.

Several former Tottenham teammates and figures were present to celebrate his remarkable achievement, including Tim Sherwood, Tom Carroll, Ryan Mason, Matt Doherty and Eric Dier.

However, Tottenham expert John Wenham admitted that one particular absence left him disappointed.

Dele Alli’s Absence Raises Sadness

Wenham revealed that he was disappointed not to see Dele Alli among the former Tottenham figures celebrating Kane’s historic night.

The two players previously enjoyed a special partnership at Spurs and were once considered two of the brightest young English talents in the Premier League.

Speaking to Tottenham News, Wenham explained that he understood their relationship might have changed, particularly after a recent Twitch phone call between the pair suggested they had not spoken properly for two or three years.

He admitted that it was disappointing to see how distant they appeared to have become, considering how close they once were during their time together in North London.

Wenham also acknowledged that friendships cannot be forced, but felt it was unfortunate that Alli seemed to be on the outside of the celebrations involving Kane’s former Tottenham teammates.

Kane Remains a Tottenham Legend

Despite Dele Alli’s absence, nothing can overshadow Kane’s outstanding achievement.

The former Spurs striker continues to reach extraordinary heights in his career, even though his biggest successes have come since leaving Tottenham for Bayern Munich.

For many Tottenham supporters, there will always be a feeling of what might have been, especially considering the possibility of Kane winning major trophies such as the Premier League and Champions League had he remained in North London.

Nevertheless, Kane’s legacy at Tottenham remains untouchable, and his 2026 Ballon d’Or victory is another reminder of just how special a player he has become.
