Juventus Reach Personal Terms With Tottenham Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario

Juventus have reportedly taken a major step in their pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario after reaching an agreement on personal terms with the Italian shot-stopper.

Vicario, 29, has been linked with a return to Serie A following an inconsistent spell in North London, with both Juventus and Napoli showing interest in securing his services.

According to reports from Italy, Juventus have agreed the framework of a contract with the goalkeeper, but negotiations with Tottenham are still required before any transfer can be completed.

The Serie A giants are believed to prefer an initial loan deal without a mandatory purchase clause. However, Tottenham are expected to favour a permanent transfer rather than allowing the goalkeeper to leave on a temporary basis.

Despite the speculation, Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi is said to value Vicario highly and is reluctant to sanction his departure. While Antonín Kinský is reportedly expected to start as Tottenham’s first-choice goalkeeper next season, De Zerbi sees Vicario as an important backup option.

With his future still unresolved, Vicario will be eager to settle the situation before the new campaign begins. A move back to Italy could provide him with the opportunity to regain confidence and secure regular first-team football.
