Liverpool are reportedly considering a permanent deal for Ronald Araújo if the Barcelona defender continues to impress at Anfield, according to MARCA.
The 27-year-old Uruguay international joined Liverpool on a season-long loan in August, with a reported €55 million purchase option included in the agreement.
Araújo has settled quickly into English football and become an important part of Andoni Iraola’s defence, proving his versatility by featuring at right-back as well as in central defence.
Having made over 200 appearances for Barcelona, the experienced defender could now have a future at Liverpool beyond this season.
Liverpool are expected to assess his performances before deciding whether to activate the reported purchase clause.
