Arsenal Player Ratings vs Brighton: Eight Players Receive 3/10 After Shock Defeat

Arsenal endured a disappointing afternoon at the Amex Stadium as Brighton secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Mikel Arteta’s side.

The Gunners struggled to cope with Brighton’s intensity, with Pascal Gross opening the scoring from the edge of the box after Arsenal failed to close him down.

Brighton doubled their advantage with another accurate effort from outside the area after Kai Havertz lost possession in his own half, eventually leading to a corner that resulted in the goal.

Arsenal never found a way back into the contest, while Brighton continued to exploit the gaps in the visitors’ defence.

Several Arsenal players received poor ratings for their performances. Jurrien Timber, Ezri Konsa, Gabriel, Riccardo Calafiori, Bruno Guimaraes, Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz were all handed 3/10.

Gabriel struggled to deal with Brighton’s attacking threat, while Guimaraes endured a particularly difficult afternoon in midfield and was criticised for leaving spaces open and making mistakes.

Odegaard failed to influence the game, while Saka missed an important opportunity before half-time. Havertz was also punished for his costly mistake in possession and later missed a one-on-one chance.

Declan Rice was one of the few Arsenal players to receive a higher rating, earning 5/10 after making several defensive interventions.

Among the substitutes, Mikel Merino and Eberechi Eze were given 4/10, while Martin Zubimendi received 5/10. Viktor Gyokeres was also unable to make a significant impact after coming on.

It was ultimately a frustrating performance from Arsenal, who were unable to match Brighton’s energy and attacking quality throughout the match.
