Ben Jacobs reveals latest on Liverpool’s reported interest in Djed Spence
Transfer expert Ben Jacobs has dismissed reports suggesting Liverpool are actively pursuing Tottenham full-back Djed Spence this summer.
Although the 25-year-old is open to leaving Spurs and his representatives have offered him to several Premier League clubs, Liverpool are currently prioritising other transfer targets and have not begun negotiations for the defender.
Jacobs stated that the Reds are not working on a deal for Spence at this stage, despite speculation linking him with a move to Anfield. Manchester United are among the clubs that have also been credited with interest, while Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi is still keen to keep the England international.
Spence’s future remains uncertain as his camp continues to explore potential options before the transfer window closes.
The defender enhanced his reputation with a series of impressive performances for England at the 2026 World Cup, showing his ability to play on either side of the defence. His versatility and homegrown status have made him an attractive option for several Premier League clubs, even though Liverpool’s focus currently lies elsewhere.
