🚨 Roberto De Zerbi’s Tottenham Future In Doubt After Another Frustrating Result

Roberto De Zerbi’s Tottenham Future Under Pressure After Another Frustrating Result

Roberto De Zerbi’s position at Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly facing increased scrutiny after Spurs were held to a disappointing 0-0 draw by Everton on Saturday.

The Italian manager arrived late last season with the primary objective of steering Tottenham away from relegation, eventually managing to keep the club in the Premier League.

Following that escape, De Zerbi received substantial financial backing in the summer as Tottenham invested more than £300 million in rebuilding the squad. Major signings including Sandro Tonali, Matheus Fernandes, Omar Marmoush and Jan Paul van Hecke were brought in, creating expectations that Spurs would enjoy a far better campaign.

Instead, Tottenham have endured a difficult opening to the 2026/27 season. After four league games, they have picked up only two points and remain uncomfortably close to the relegation places. Their latest disappointment came at home against Everton, with the 0-0 result greeted by boos from some Spurs supporters.

Tottenham Still Backing De Zerbi

Football Insider journalist Pete O’Rourke reports that there are now “increasing doubts” about De Zerbi’s position, but Tottenham are not currently considering an immediate decision to dismiss him.

O’Rourke noted that results will always determine the pressure on a Premier League manager, and De Zerbi will be fully aware that his team’s poor start has increased the scrutiny around him.

However, despite collecting far fewer points than expected following the club’s huge summer investment, Tottenham are still believed to have faith in De Zerbi and view him as the man capable of turning their fortunes around.

Former striker Chris Sutton had also questioned De Zerbi’s management after the goalless draw with Nottingham Forest. Sutton argued that the Tottenham boss needs to take some responsibility, particularly after publicly criticising his forwards despite having attacking options available.

While Sutton expects Spurs to eventually find their scoring touch and begin picking up victories, he was not convinced the problems would disappear immediately.
