Mikel Arteta Approves Five Arsenal Exits as Major Squad Clearout Begins, with One Deal Nearing Completion

Arsenal Prepare Five-Man Clearout as Arteta Approves Player Exits

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has reportedly given the green light for five players to leave the club this summer as the Gunners look to free up space in their squad, wage bill and transfer budget.

With Arsenal still hoping to strengthen their attack and potentially add another centre-back before the transfer window closes, the club is prepared to listen to offers for Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus, Fabio Vieira, Ethan Nwaneri and Reiss Nelson.

Martinelli could depart if Arsenal receive a suitable offer following his return from World Cup duty with Brazil, while Jesus is also available for transfer. Napoli are reportedly interested in the Brazilian forward, with Arsenal said to be seeking around £18–20 million.

Vieira has not featured for Arsenal since 2024 and has spent time on loan at Porto and Hamburg. Nwaneri, meanwhile, could also leave after returning from his loan spell at Marseille, with Galatasaray reportedly interested in a potential package deal involving him and Martinelli.

Reiss Nelson is another player nearing the exit door, with West Ham reportedly holding talks with Arsenal over a possible move. The winger spent last season on loan at Brentford.

If all five departures are completed, Arsenal would create additional room in both their transfer budget and wage structure as Arteta looks to make further additions before the summer window shuts.
