Ryan Gravenberch Devastated After Red Card as Liverpool Collapse Against Man City
Liverpool’s clash with Manchester City took a dramatic turn after Ryan Gravenberch was sent off in the second half, leaving the Reds struggling at Anfield.
Liverpool had performed well for much of the match, but their hopes suffered a major setback in the 62nd minute when Gravenberch received his second yellow card for a challenge on Jeremy Doku.
The Dutch midfielder looked visibly heartbroken after realising he had been dismissed. He even remained on the pitch briefly, seemingly hoping the referee would reconsider the decision, but he was eventually forced to leave the field.
The dismissal proved costly for Liverpool. Just three minutes later, Erling Haaland put Manchester City ahead in the 65th minute, before Doku doubled the visitors’ advantage in the 68th minute.
Liverpool’s performance quickly unravelled after going down to ten men, turning a competitive encounter into a painful afternoon for the home side.
The red card also sparked widespread debate among Liverpool supporters, with many questioning referee Chris Kavanagh’s decision and expressing frustration over how the match unfolded.
