INSIDER DELIVERS BLUNT VERDICT: Mauricio Pochettino Is NOT Returning to Tottenham Anytime Soon

Despite renewed speculation, Tottenham are unlikely to make a move for Mauricio Pochettino if Roberto De Zerbi leaves the club, according to former Spurs scout Mick Brown.

Pochettino has recently spoken positively about Tottenham and admitted he would like to return to the Premier League one day, sparking talk of a potential second spell in North London. However, the Argentine has recently committed his future to the United States national team, making an immediate return to club football appear unlikely.

De Zerbi’s position has come under increasing pressure following Tottenham’s difficult start to the season. Spurs are still without a Premier League win or goal after four matches, while their Carabao Cup campaign ended with a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool.

Brown previously suggested that Pochettino was prepared to wait for another opportunity in England after missing out on the Tottenham and Manchester United jobs. With the former Spurs boss now contracted to the USA through the World Cup, his return to the Premier League has become even more complicated.

Speaking to Football Insider, Brown insisted that Pochettino’s return to Tottenham does not look realistic in the near future.

🚨 “I don’t see any way Pochettino could return to Tottenham at the moment,” Brown said.

“He has signed a new contract with the USA and appears to be doing well. I would expect him to remain in the role. He has occasionally spoken about returning to Tottenham, but the timing has never quite worked out, and there have always been other candidates ahead of him.

“I think that will be the case again. Even if Tottenham decide to part company with De Zerbi, I believe they will look elsewhere.”
