Tottenham Make Progress in Pursuit of Former Inter Milan Sporting Director Piero Ausilio
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly advancing in talks to bring former Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio into the club’s footballing structure.
According to reports from Football Insider, negotiations are progressing, with former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness suggesting that Ausilio’s potential arrival could be a significant move for Spurs.
The experienced Italian has also previously been linked with Liverpool.
Spurs Target Ausilio for Key Football Role
Ausilio has emerged as a leading candidate as Tottenham look to strengthen their recruitment and sporting operations.
The Italian spent close to 30 years at Inter, gaining extensive experience in squad building, player recruitment and football administration while contributing to the club’s success domestically and in Europe.
His arrival could provide Tottenham with valuable expertise as the club works to develop a stronger long-term strategy.
However, Wyness believes Spurs would need to establish a clear structure around the role to ensure Ausilio can operate effectively.
Tottenham’s difficult start to the campaign has increased the focus on the club’s decisions away from the pitch, particularly regarding its footballing hierarchy.
Ausilio Could Add Experience to Tottenham
Tottenham are considering Ausilio as they look to create greater stability and direction within their sporting department.
His years of experience at Inter could be particularly useful as Spurs reassess their recruitment plans and attempt to assemble a squad capable of competing at the highest level.
However, bringing in Ausilio alone would not solve all of Tottenham’s problems. His success would also depend on effective cooperation with the manager, recruitment team and senior club officials.
With discussions reportedly moving forward, attention will now turn to whether Ausilio eventually makes the move to North London.
No official agreement has been announced yet, but the latest developments indicate that Tottenham are seriously considering a major change to their footballing structure.
