Tottenham Hotspur have received a significant fitness boost as Dejan Kulusevski has reportedly returned to full training after missing the entirety of last season through injury.
The Sweden international has spent the past 14 months on the sidelines following a serious knee injury to his right patella, suffered during the closing stages of the 2024-25 Premier League campaign. The setback came after a collision with Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi with only two league fixtures remaining.
Spurs had initially hoped Kulusevski would return before the end of 2025, but complications during his rehabilitation forced him to undergo surgery, delaying his comeback even further. Now fully recovered, the 26-year-old has reportedly resumed full training at Hotspur Way.
His return is a timely boost for Roberto De Zerbi as the Tottenham boss prepares for his first full season in charge. Kulusevski was unable to feature under former manager Thomas Frank due to his lengthy absence, but he is now aiming to make an immediate impact once competitive action resumes.
The winger was not included in Tottenham’s 35-man squad for the pre-season tour of New Zealand and Australia, with the club opting to carefully manage his recovery. Mohamed Kudus, Xavi Simons, and Wilson Odobert also remained in north London to continue their own rehabilitation programmes.
Despite missing the tour, Kulusevski is believed to be closing in on full match fitness and could be available early in the 2026-27 season. Tottenham have already played friendlies against MK Dons, Auckland FC, and Sydney FC, with further pre-season fixtures against Chelsea, Getafe, and TSG Hoffenheim scheduled before they kick off their Premier League campaign away at Brentford on August 22.
If his recovery continues without setbacks, Kulusevski is expected to be in contention for selection when Spurs begin the new season.
