Fresh Update on Kai Havertz’s Injury After Germany vs Netherlands Clash

Update Emerges on Kai Havertz Injury After Germany vs Netherlands

Arsenal have been handed a potential injury concern after Kai Havertz was forced off during Germany’s clash with the Netherlands on Thursday night.

Havertz started as Germany’s centre-forward in Jurgen Klopp’s first match in charge of the national team, but his evening was cut short after just 30 minutes.

Germany eventually drew 1-1 with the Netherlands. Felix Nmecha gave the visitors the lead before Cody Gakpo found a late equaliser for the Dutch side.

Klopp Gives Havertz Injury Update

Havertz was selected ahead of Younes Ebnoutalib and Nick Woltemade, but he was unable to complete the first half after suffering an injury.

The Arsenal striker appeared to be caught by Quinten Timber, with the Netherlands midfielder’s high boot making contact around Havertz’s knee. After spending some time receiving treatment, Havertz was replaced by Ebnoutalib.

Following the match, Klopp confirmed that both Havertz and Jamal Musiala would undergo scans to establish the seriousness of their injuries.

“Both Havertz and Musiala will undergo scans tonight. They’re probably out for us, but I hope they’ll be back soon for their clubs,” Klopp said.

Journalist Ryan Taylor has since reported that Havertz is believed to have suffered a problem with his left hamstring, despite the initial contact appearing to be around his knee.

How Long Could Havertz Be Out?

There is currently no official diagnosis, with the MRI scan expected to provide a clearer picture of the injury.

Previous hamstring and knee problems have kept Havertz out for significant periods, meaning Arsenal will be hoping this latest setback is not as serious.

The timing could give the Gunners some breathing room, as their next Premier League fixture is not until October 10, when they host Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium.

If the injury proves to be relatively minor, Havertz could potentially recover in time for that match. However, the initial signs will be a concern for Arsenal.
