FORMER MAN UNITED STAR REVEALS THE SURPRISING FINE PREMIER LEAGUE PLAYERS PAY FOR A YELLOW CARD

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster has revealed a little-known rule that sees footballers fined whenever they receive a yellow card during a match.

Speaking on his Fozcast podcast, the former goalkeeper explained that players are charged £10 for every yellow card, regardless of whether they play in the Premier League or grassroots football.

The discussion began when co-host Tom Ochoa criticised players who deliberately kick the ball away after the referee blows the whistle, resulting in unnecessary bookings.

Foster explained that even professional footballers must pay the fine because it is imposed under the Football Association’s disciplinary rules.

Former Wrexham defender Ben Tozer also joined the conversation, revealing that red-card fines can be significantly higher.

According to the FA’s disciplinary rules, the fine for a red card depends on the offence committed.
