As the transfer window enters its final stages, Tottenham are stepping up their activity, with the latest developments producing a few unexpected twists.
Spurs appear to have missed out on Cody Gakpo, with Manchester City now emerging as the frontrunners for the Liverpool forward. However, Tottenham have quickly moved on from the disappointment and turned their attention to another Premier League attacker.
Reports claim Spurs have reached an agreement with Everton for a double deal, with Iliman Ndiaye heading to north London while Richarlison could make a return to Goodison Park in a separate move.
Former Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli, who left Spurs in the same summer Ndiaye joined Everton in 2024, appears to be a big admirer of the winger. After Fabrizio Romano shared the transfer update on Instagram, Dele responded with a one-word reaction praising the move — a message that could give Tottenham supporters something to smile about following a difficult 2025/26 campaign.
Tottenham have struggled for a consistent attacking threat, and with Mathys Tel still adapting to his role as the main left winger, Ndiaye’s Premier League experience could provide Roberto De Zerbi with another proven option.
During his two seasons at Everton after arriving from Marseille, the 21-year-old scored 16 goals, showing he can make a meaningful contribution in front of goal. Spurs fans will be hoping Ndiaye can add the creativity, unpredictability and attacking spark their side has been missing.
