“HE WANTS TO STAY” — MAC ALLISTER’S FATHER DELIVERS BIG LIVERPOOL UPDATE
Alexis Mac Allister has no intention of leaving Liverpool, according to his father, Carlos, who has confirmed that the Argentine midfielder remains fully committed to the Reds and wants to continue his career at Anfield.
The 27-year-old has reportedly attracted interest from several European giants this summer, with Manchester City and Real Madrid among the clubs monitoring his situation. Despite the speculation, Mac Allister’s camp has made it clear that a move away from Liverpool is not currently being considered.
Liverpool are yet to open talks over a new contract for the midfielder, but Mac Allister is said to be happy at the club and keen to continue under manager Andoni Iraola.

Carlos Mac Allister has played down suggestions that his son could leave Anfield this summer.
According to Fabrizio Romano, he stated that Alexis is not thinking about an exit and remains determined to stay with Liverpool.
Although negotiations over a contract extension have not yet begun, the midfielder reportedly wants to continue wearing the Liverpool shirt.
The latest comments come amid continued reports of interest from Manchester City. The Premier League club have reportedly considered Mac Allister as an alternative to Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez, while Real Madrid are also believed to be monitoring the situation.
Liverpool, however, have shown little indication that they want to sell. Previous reports have also suggested that Mac Allister and his representatives rejected approaches from other clubs because of his preference to remain at Anfield.

Mac Allister’s desire to stay will be welcomed by Liverpool supporters, but the club should now look to secure his long-term future.
The Argentine remains one of the team’s most technically gifted and versatile midfielders. Leaving his contract situation unresolved could give interested clubs more encouragement to pursue him.
While Mac Allister had some inconsistent periods during the 2025/26 campaign, his quality and importance to the squad remain undeniable. His ability to dictate play, handle pressure and operate in multiple midfield roles makes him a valuable asset.
The biggest positive for Liverpool is that the player himself wants to stay.
That puts the Reds in a strong position when contract negotiations eventually begin. If Iraola continues to view Mac Allister as an important part of his plans, Liverpool should move quickly to agree a new deal, silence the transfer speculation and secure one of their key midfielders for the years ahead.
