Liverpool Closing In on Yankuba Minteh as Brighton Hold Out for £70m+
Liverpool are reportedly edging closer to signing Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh, with negotiations between the two Premier League clubs said to be progressing.
The Reds have already seen bids of £50 million and £60 million rejected for the 22-year-old, while Brighton are believed to want at least £70 million before considering a sale.
According to Footy Africa, Liverpool are now working to finalise an agreement and could end up paying more than £70 million for the Gambian international.
Liverpool are looking to strengthen their options on the wings this summer, with other attacking targets also linked to the club. Minteh has impressed during his time at Brighton and is viewed as a potential long-term addition to Andoni Iraola’s squad.
However, there is one concern: Minteh is currently injured and could be sidelined for several weeks, meaning he may not be available to make an immediate impact.
Despite the sizeable asking price, Liverpool appear willing to invest heavily in the winger, with talks reportedly continuing as both clubs try to reach a final agreement.
