Liverpool Receive Tottenham Offer for Cody Gakpo
Liverpool are reportedly considering an offer from Tottenham Hotspur for forward Cody Gakpo, with the Dutch international’s future at Anfield now uncertain.
Tottenham are said to be keen on bringing Gakpo to North London, and the 27-year-old is reportedly open to the possibility of joining Spurs. However, Liverpool have yet to give the deal the green light as they remain focused on strengthening their attacking options.
The Reds’ decision could depend heavily on their pursuit of new wingers. Liverpool are reportedly targeting players such as Bradley Barcola, Ibrahim Mbaye and Yankuba Minteh as they look to add more direct attackers following Mohamed Salah’s departure.
Liverpool have already brought in Victor Muñoz from Osasuna but are believed to want further additions before considering Gakpo’s exit. As a result, the club may be reluctant to sanction his departure until suitable replacements are secured.
Tottenham’s interest in Gakpo is therefore closely linked to Liverpool’s transfer activity, particularly their reported negotiations for PSG winger Bradley Barcola.
At this stage, Tottenham have reportedly made an offer and Gakpo is said to be interested in the move, but Liverpool have not yet approved the transfer.
The exact value of Spurs’ latest proposal has not been confirmed. Previous reports claimed Tottenham had submitted a bid worth more than £60 million, although that figure has been disputed.
