Tottenham Receive James Maddison Injury Update Before Crystal Palace Clash
Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a fresh update on James Maddison’s fitness as they prepare for Saturday’s Premier League meeting with Crystal Palace.
Maddison’s condition remains a key concern for Spurs, with the midfielder playing an important role in the team’s attack through his creativity and passing.
The England international only recently returned after recovering from a long-term ACL injury suffered last season. Earlier this campaign, he also dealt with a shoulder problem, and his latest setback has once again raised concerns over his availability.
During Tottenham’s 2-0 win over Chelsea, Maddison appeared to suffer a groin issue and was forced off in the second half, leaving supporters worried ahead of the Palace clash.
Manager Roberto De Zerbi is awaiting the results of further medical assessments before making a final decision on whether the midfielder will be fit to play.
There is some positive news, however. Maddison was able to walk unaided after the Chelsea match and joined his teammates in celebrating the victory, suggesting the injury may not be as serious as initially feared.
Even so, Tottenham are expected to be cautious with the playmaker given his recent injury history.
His availability for Crystal Palace remains uncertain, with a final decision expected after late fitness tests before kick-off.
