BAYERN MUNICH COULD REVIVE INTEREST IN LIVERPOOL WONDERKID RIO NGUMOHA

Liverpool could face another transfer battle with Bayern Munich as the German giants consider signing a winger to replace the injured Luis Diaz.

According to reliable journalist Christian Falk in his latest CF Bayern Insider column, Bayern are considering bringing in a new winger during the January transfer window.

Diaz has reportedly given the club permission to sign a temporary replacement while he recovers from injury. The new arrival could also remain as a squad rotation option once the Colombian international returns.

One player who could attract Bayern’s attention again is Liverpool youngster Rio Ngumoha.

The German champions were already interested in the talented teenager during the summer transfer window and reportedly made significant progress in their attempts to secure his signature.

Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg previously revealed that Bayern had reached a verbal agreement with Ngumoha and his representatives in May 2026.

The winger was reportedly identified as a priority target to provide cover for Diaz, with manager Vincent Kompany personally approving the move after speaking with the youngster.

However, the proposed transfer eventually collapsed before an agreement could be reached between the clubs.

Bayern’s latest search for a winger could therefore bring Ngumoha back onto their radar.

Nevertheless, Liverpool are unlikely to consider losing the 18-year-old easily. His importance to the first team has grown significantly, with the youngster receiving more opportunities and becoming increasingly involved in senior football.

Having already resisted Bayern’s interest once, the Reds are expected to do everything possible to keep hold of one of their brightest young prospects.
