Liverpool are reportedly considering a move for Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite as they prepare for the future of their defence.
The 24-year-old has impressed this season and is reportedly attracting renewed attention from England, with Liverpool viewing him as a potential long-term successor to Virgil van Dijk.
🔴 LIVERPOOL ALREADY MONITORING BRANTHWAITE
According to Football Insider, Liverpool are admirers of the England international and could attempt to sign him in 2027.
Branthwaite’s physical strength, left-footed ability and Premier League experience make him an attractive option for the Reds as they search for a defender capable of leading their backline in the coming years.
However, Everton hold a strong negotiating position. The defender is under contract until 2030, and the Toffees reportedly value him at around £80 million.

Manchester United are also keen on Branthwaite after seeing two bids rejected in 2024.

The Reds are also considering other defensive options, including Nico Schlotterbeck, Alessandro Bastoni and Murillo.
However, Branthwaite’s familiarity with English football could give him an advantage over potential alternatives.
With Van Dijk’s long-term future becoming an important consideration, Liverpool may need a defender ready to handle the pressure of a major role rather than someone who requires years of development.
A deal could prove expensive, but Liverpool might still test Everton’s resolve if they believe Branthwaite is the ideal man to strengthen their defence.
